I just learned about the second leading killer of dogs, after cancer: bloat. Sounds innocent enough, doesn’t it? Kind of like one of those “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing” commercials.
It’s much more serious than you can imagine. Much like a horse with colic, dogs can die within hours of developing bloat, and the symptoms are the same as many harmless conditions — they include:
acting strangely, “not herself”, anxiety, restlessness, pale gums, coughing, hunched up appearance, pacing, whining, among others
