book club meetings

Ladies, I was slapped on the wrist by the folks at OutLoud for changing our March date and am having to change it back to Tuesday the 20th because they had already done some publicity for that date. Hopefully, this is enough advance warning for you that you can schedule your reading time accordingly. We ARE moving to the fourth Tuesday of the month in April, so on the plus side, we’ll have a longer month than usual in which to read Tea. If you know anyone from the group who may not receive this e-mail or anyone who’s interested in joining us, please let them know about the date change. I hope to see you all on Tuesday, March 20th (our last meeting on the third Tuesday) at 7 p.m. at OutLoud, when we will discuss Jeanette Winterson’s Lighthousekeeping. Till then . . . .

Cindy

Hi everyone–

Please join the Lambda Book Group on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 PM in the Community Meeting Room at Davis-Kidd for our next meeting. We will be discussing Trumpet by Jackie Kay.

In the 1950s and 60s, Scottish jazz musician Joss Moody was celebrated for his sound: everyone who heard it imagined they knew the man behind it. But with the remarkable fact uncovered upon his death, it becomes clear that no one but his wife Millie knew him at all. A tapestry of brilliantly realized voices from Joss’s world reveals the startling and poignant story of Joss and Millie: how they built a love, a family, and a life out of a complex, dazzling lie.

Future selections for the Lambda Book Group are as follows:

March Trumpet by Jackie Kay
April Faith for Beginners by Aaron Hamburger
May Empathy by Sarah Schulman

Hope to see you at this month’s meeting!

Best,
Pat
