As you may have already seen from news reports, Sen. Shea Flinn (D-Memphis) and Rep. Beverly Marrero (D-Memphis) have filed a bill establishing a license plate for the Tennessee Equality Project Foundation. Rep. Sherry Jones (D-Nashville) has also signed on as a House co-sponsor.
We believe the bill, if passed, would establish the first such license plate for a GLBT organization in the country. We also believe that it would provide more awareness for equality issues throughout our state.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
For this bill to succeed, we need your presence at Advancing Equality Day on the Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Tomorrow we will send out a list of meetings that have already been set up with legislators so that you can join in. If you have already set up meetings with your lawmakers, send us the information on your meeting. Include the name of the legislator and the time of the meeting.
