Here’s a few articles about bringing high speed internet access to rural tennesseans. The effort has been linked to when Roosevelt expanded electricity in the 1930’s. Tennessee ranks 37th in the Nation for access to broadband service. I struggle every week to get my show up and update my site. Think about all the kids that have high speed at school and dial-up when they get home. Our only choice out here for both internet & TV is to pay big bucks for a dish. If we didn’t have a clear view of the southern sky we wouldn’t have had that. Television is interrupted all the time with dropped signals from our satellite signal. Weather is a big factor and sometimes I think it’s just the satellite company not able to handle the traffic. “It’s better than dial-up” just isn’t good enough. This is the gateway to our future having our fingertips on the world. It is as important as the telephone, television & electricity. I believe our country should not be divided between the haves and the have nots when it comes to the information highway. Kentucky organized and they now have 87% with access to broadband. We can do that here too. Read up on it and talk to your representative.
peace & love
